Position Summary:
The Event Coordinator Intern will learn how to ensure events of all types and sizes run smoothly. Includes experience with many types of events such as weddings and large member events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Management Support:
Assist in managing events and help address potential problems that may arise under supervision.
Client Experience Assistance:
Support the hands-on management day of wedding to ensure bridal couple satisfaction.
Lead Response:
Help respond to inquiries and leads in a timely manner, following business guidelines.
Relationship Building:
Aid in establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and vendors.
Venue Tours and Booking:
Assist in hosting venue tours and booking events.
Planning Assistance:
Provide support in the planning process, including food and beverage selection, timelines, event details, logistics, and room layout.
Guest Comfort:
Assist in carrying out special requirements and duties to enhance guests' comfort and well-being.
Contingency Planning:
Help plan for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.
Event Knowledge:
Gain and maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Hospitality Management degree or a current student in a Hospitality Management Program preferred.
- Some administrative required.
- Energetic and friendly personality
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills required; able to express oneself in an articulate and effective manner in person, over the phone and through correspondence
- Excellent organization and planning skills with exceptional attention to detail
Classification:
Temporary, Non – exempt, 20 – 25 hours per week
